AutoMod
TrueAudit tracks every time an AutoMod rule is created, updated, or deleted. These rules play a powerful role in preventing spam and enforcing guidelines automatically — so it’s important to log exactly when and how they’re changed.
✅ Rule Created
When a new AutoMod rule is made, TrueAudit will:
Log the rule’s name and ID
Identify the moderator who created it
Record the timestamp of creation (in EST)
Assign a unique Case ID
Send an embed to your mod log channel summarizing the action
✏️ Rule Updated
When an AutoMod rule is edited, TrueAudit captures the key differences and highlights them. This includes:
Added or removed keywords in the filter
Whether the rule was enabled or disabled
If the rule’s actions were changed (like blocking links or mentions)
The moderator who made the update
Any reason provided in the audit log
A detailed Changes section in the embed for full visibility
❌ Rule Deleted
When an AutoMod rule is removed:
The rule’s name and ID are included in the log
The responsible moderator is identified
The deletion is recorded with a timestamp and Case ID
An embed is sent to your mod channel
🧠 How It Works
TrueAudit listens directly to Discord’s audit log events for AutoMod changes. It pulls in relevant context like:
What changed
Who made the change
When it happened
It then formats this into a clear, easy-to-read embed and posts it to your mod log channel — so nothing goes unnoticed.
🔍 Why This Matters
AutoMod can mute users, block content, and enforce server rules automatically. Changes to these rules should be visible, traceable, and attributed to the right person.
By logging AutoMod rule changes, TrueAudit helps:
Maintain transparency around automated enforcement
Ensure accountability for staff edits
Provide context when users are affected by invisible filters
These audits also enhance features like /checkstaff
, /timeline
, and detection tools that track when impactful changes are made.
