Ban / Unban
TrueAudit tracks every time a member is banned or unbanned, capturing essential details to ensure full transparency and accountability.
🔒 Ban Events
When a moderator bans a member, TrueAudit will:
Log the banned member’s username and ID
Identify the moderator responsible for the ban
Include the reason (if provided)
Record the time and date the action took place
Assign a unique Case ID to the event (
taXXXXXXXXXXXX
)Send an optional embed to your configured mod channel for visibility
If no reason is provided in the Discord audit log, TrueAudit will label it as No reason provided.
🛡️ Unban Events
When a member is unbanned:
TrueAudit logs the member who was unbanned
Captures the moderator who reversed the ban
Includes the reason, if any
Assigns a new Case ID for traceability
Sends an embed to your mod channel if it's been set
⏱️ How Timing Works
TrueAudit checks the server’s audit log shortly after the event to match the action with the correct moderator and context. This ensures the right person is credited, even if Discord delays the audit log by a few seconds.
🧠 Why This Matters
Ban and unban actions are some of the most sensitive moderation tools. By logging them clearly and consistently, TrueAudit helps:
Prevent abuse
Maintain accountability
Build trust in staff decisions
Provide a clear record for future reference or appeals
These events are also used by commands like /checkuser
, /checkstaff
, and /frequency
— helping you keep track of all moderation patterns over time.
